Virar local....

Virar is named after an Indian philosopher Jeevan Virar. An outpost of Mumbai, in the year1925 Virar is connected with mainland with electric train. Virar is a city and a municipal council in Thane district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the last station of the western suburb local root or so called lifeline of Mumbai. Yes, I am talking about our own Western Railway.

There are about thirty lakhs citizens residing between Dahisar and Virar who travels in trains. Their transportation issue still remain unresolved after making 4-track route and increasing train's frequencies.

Union railway minister Mr Laloo Prasad Yadav has assured Pravaas Adhikar Andolan Samiti (PAAS), the commuter organisation fighting for the rights for human travel conditions in the local trains, that Virar sector problems will be taken up on a priority basis.

But I feel this issue can be solved for which, of course, I have my own views:

* Let government opens up a large SEZ (special Economic Zone)
* Let couple of IT companies like IBM or Oracle are offered a massive land for call centers at very rock bottom price
* Open up some infotech park as well
* Let it become an industrial area rather than just residential complex

With this, I am sure it will reduce the burden of citizens and Virar trains....

Your suggestions are welcome :)

Yeah. Thats true.
The area should be developed in such a way that people won't have to travel by train for their jobs.
Instead of spending time and money on arranging surveys and comities for infrastructure projects, it's better to create jobs in that area and this doesn't just applies to Virar but for Villages across India.

Well........I think Suraj has already dropped in Bhayandar :-)that comes before Virar,
The only suggestion i can tell is to increase the frequency of local trains,
because the major reason as been observed for local trains to be highly crowded is because of long time gap between two trains, as a result most of the crowd prefer traveling in the same train to reach office's , colleges or any destination they wish to go on time.
