Ladies and Gentlemen....

Flying the Friendly Skies :
I am sure many of us (spending so much time in the air, traveling from one place to another) might have experienced these comedic comments that were heard over the public address system on some of the favorite airlines. Enjoy...!

On a Southwest flight (SW has no assigned seating, you just sit where you want) passengers were apparently having a hard time choosing, when a flight attendant announced, "People, people we're not picking out furniture here, find a seat and get in it!"

On a Continental Flight with a very "senior" flight attendant crew, the pilot said, "Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the appearance of your flight attendants."

On landing, the stewardess said, "Please be sure to take all of your belongings. If you're going to leave anything, please make sure it's something we'd like to have".

"There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane".

After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in Memphis, a flight attendant on a Northwest flight announced, "Please take care when opening the overhead compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as hell everything has shifted".

From a Southwest Airlines employee: "Welcome aboard Southwest Flight 245 to Tampa. To operate your seat belt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works just like every other seat belt; and, if you don't know how to operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised".

"In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with more than one small child, pick your favorite".

"Your seat cushions can be used for flotation; and, in the event of an emergency water landing, please paddle to shore and take them with our compliments".

Part of a flight attendant's arrival announcement: "We'd like to thank you folks for flying with us today. And, the next time you get the insane urge to go blasting through the skies in a pressurized metal tube, we hope you'll think of US Airways".

A plane was taking off from Kennedy Airport. After it reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight Number 293, nonstop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather ahead is good and, therefore, we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax... OH, MY GOD!" Silence followed, and after a few minutes, the captain came back on the intercom and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier. While I was talking to you, the flight attendant accidentally spilled a cup of hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!" A passenger in Coach yelled, "That's nothing. You should see the back of mine".

Recipe's Blog Reader...

Notes from a young wife (Recipe's Blog Reader):

Monday:
Now home from honeymoon and settled in our new home. It's fun to cook for Sunny. Today I made an angel food cake and the recipe said, "beat 12 eggs separately." Well, I didn't have enough bowls to do that, so I had to borrow 12 bowls to beat the eggs in. The cake turned out fine though.

Tuesday:
We wanted a fruit salad for supper. The recipe said, "serve without dressing." So I didn't dress. But Sunny happened to bring a friend home for supper that night. They both looked so startled when I served them, I think it was the salad.

Wednesday:
I decided to serve rice and found a recipe which said, "wash thoroughly before steaming the rice." So I heated some water and took a bath before steaming the rice. Sounded kinda silly in the middle of the day. I can't say it improved the rice anyhow.

Thursday:
Today Sunny asked for salad again. I tried a new recipe.
It said, "prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving." I hunted all over the place for a garden and when I got one, I tossed my salad into the bed of lettuce and stood over there for over one hour so the dog would not take it. Sunny came over and asked if I felt all right. I wonder why? He must be stressed at work, I'll try to be supportive.

Friday:
Today I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said, "put all ingredients in a bowl and beat it." Beat it I did,to my mum's place. There must have been something wrong with the recipe, because when I came back home again, it looked the same as when I left it.

Saturday:
Sunny went shopping today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to dress it for Sunday. I'm sure I don't know how hens dress for Sunday. I never noticed back on the farm, but I found an old doll dress and it's little cute shoes. I thought the hen looked really cute. When Sunny saw it, he started counting to ten. Either he was really stressed because of his work, or he wanted the chicken to dance.

When I asked him what was wrong he started crying and shouting out "why me? why me ?"

Hmmm....It must be his job.

A great lesson...

Putting here a true story which happened in the United States. A man came out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment. When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital.

Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands. When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, " Daddy,I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "but when are my fingers going to grow back?" The father went home & committed suicide.

Think about this story the next time someone steps on your feet or you wish to take revenge. Think first before you lose your patience with someone you love. Trucks can be repaired.. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't. Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.

People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

Your Master Power....

A bird sitting on a branch of a tree is not afraid of the branch shaking..!!!
Bcoz..the bird trusts not the branches but its OWN WINGS...!!!

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be. That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.

There are times when people disappoint you and let you down.
But those are the times when you remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.

There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.

Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggles, you will find a stronger sense of who you are.

Self belief, self confidence, and self esteem... whatever you call it, when you believe in yourself life becomes much, much easier.

You achieve more, you have less anxiety and you grasp opportunities as they arise. It is a wonderful feeling when you know you can stand by your decisions, rely on yourself in difficult situations and overcome obstacles.

So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.

The Believe in Yourself will boost and reinforce your self belief to give you the strength to tackle greater challenges, push yourself harder and face difficult situations with confidence.

Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.

Keep believing in yourself.

I love sundays....

Today morning my friend called me up to check what I was doing and to his surprise he found me sleeping at 12noon. He was jealous coz he’d to go to office due to March end. On probing another friend he confessed that they too have lots of pressures and a work load. Even another friend, Milind, who works for financial investment services called me up for references as he'd to complete his targets.

OMG...work on Sundays..!??!

The whole week we’ll work and toil and there is one day that we all look for long.
For...wait for the amazing Sunday....
Don’t hide it....don’t you all look forward to it...
Be honest. No matter how much you may like your work...there is something about this Sunday...that wraps you ....and lures you towards it...
I never knew that I would become one of the "Sunday loving" freaks...
Yes, of course I cherished my Sundays (in my school days) spent with my friends playing cricket from morning 9 to evening 7, then go for a walk, then come back home, eat food, again go out till midnight..

That’s how I cherished my Sundays....
Then ...life changed. I got into engineering but thank god we never had college on Sundays like those management students have.
But then, I almost forgot what a perfect Sunday was like...
And now...working since last 9yrs I truly know the importance of these great Sundays...even I am married and life has almost become a routine.
Getup - Eat- Work - Home – Eat – Sleep....

And on Sundays..
Getup - Eat - Sleep - Getup - Eat – Write/Surf – Eat- sleep.
It just like recharges you for the coming whole week.
Gives you time to relax....sleep...yawn....dream & plan...
Aah..!!! What a lovely Sunday....I simply surrender to them.

Customer services...

We often give a TIP in a restaurant if we like their service, not even if we liked or so it has become the trend nowadays. Tip is originally invented in Old UK. TIP stands for “To Improve Promptness”. But these days Promptness or service..?! Who cares..! I am mentioning about all the service like banking, utilities, electricity or telephone etc. I had a worst experience recently with my depositary service provider. I purchased some shares for which I did not receive the contract notes. I called up their HelpDesk. The conversation happened this way after she verified that me is me and not anybody else... :D

Me: I have not received the contract note for xx and yy shares purchased on 29th December. Can you resend the one just incase that’s returned?
She: Of course, I can. But that will be charged at Rs50. May I take the request?
Me: Why should I be charged? I’ve not received it. Do you have any p-o-d that indicates that it was delivered once and I am demanding again?
She: We don’t have tracking systems, Sir. So I don’t know weather its delivered or not but I need to charge you if you demand for duplicate.
Me: But Maa’m, I am demanding for original not the duplicate…?// Did you understand?
She: That I don’t know but if I take a request I need to charge you.
(What the hell??/ )
Me: (shouting) Why do I pay for your mistake. If you have any proof that it has been delivered to me and I am asking again you have all rights to charge me. If not, you need to assist me with a copy.
She: Why did you ask for this after almost after 2 months time.
(Oh God…! What a funny question??? I was playing sudoku or anything, what you gonna do with it..) (I controlled my temper, anyways..!)
Me: Can I speak to you senior in this matter..?/
She: Even she is going to say the same…
Me: (in a loud voice) Maa’m, I received the bank statement a day before in which I found that this note is missing. Now I don’t want to argue with you anymore. Can I speak to your senior? Can you please transfer the line?...
She finally did..! And believe me guys, the senior understood my problem in a minute and sent me the note. Of course, without any additional charge…! This was nice experience. But one thing I would like to mention good part about the junior. She was very calm and she never spoke to me in high volume or in hash tone even though I was rude at her couple of times that I agree. But where they goana take the customers this way..??/// What’s the future..?/ I am sure you all guys must have faced the similar experience with the service providers.. Do comment...
